Eating and Drinking

Kings head Our favourite pub is the Stockton Cross at Kimbolton - and that's not just because they use our lamb on their menu. Simon and Chloe always extend a warm welcome to visitors and the locals are a friendly bunch too. Their menu includes good quality pub food at sensible prices.

Another lovely pub is the Duke of York in Leysters - again about 3 miles from Whyle House. A proper 'parlour pub' this establishment has been in the same family for over 100 years. They don't serve food but you'll be assured of a friendly welcome and it's a delightful place for a quiet drink.

The local town of Leominster offers some decent places to eat including a nice little Italian restaurant which is very popular with our guests.

Places to visit

Leominster is our local town with all the usual facilities and shops. It's famous for antique shops of which there are many and its a great place to browse around. It also has a swimming pool and leisure and sporting facilities. It's about 5 miles away with plenty of parking and bus and rail links.

Hereford is the nearest city with its cathedral and a large selection of shops and facilities. It is of course most famous for the 'Mappa Mundi' exhibition at the cathedral which is well worth a visit.

You can always find out what's going on in Leominster and the surrounding villages at the local Tourist Information Office at Things to do. For information about Herefordshire go to Visit Herefordshire.
